I scoped out the children's section of our local library the other day. There was a huge bulletin board covered with notices about kid-centric "goings on." Spanish language hour. Mother Goose story-time. Craft days. Even a baby storytime aimed at six month old wee ones. Lots and lots of awesome activities...
And when do all these fantastic events take place? You guessed it. 10am on a Tuesday. 1pm on Wednesday. Between 11 and 1 on Monday. GRRRRRRRRR. Apparently only stay at home moms want to take their kids to things at the library.
I expressed my frustration to the nearest librarian and she was sympathetic but claimed that no one came when they had things in the evenings. Sigh. So I joined the "friends of the Mt. Lebanon library" group and I'll just have to create change from within.
