A Sign

Friday is my last day at work and today God decided to send me a sign that it's about time to wrap things up at the office (in case the expanding belly, exhaustion, and backache weren't enough). This afternoon, as I was sitting at my desk thinking to myself "geez, it's hot in here," the radiator in my office suddenly clicked on and starting blasting heat directly at my computer chair, which is situated about 2 feet in front of it.

The awful part is -- we don't control the blasted things. They're on some kind of master timer system thing for the whole church and I can't do a darned thing about turning it down or off. All I can do (which I did) is throw open the window, crank up the fan, and sweat.

The reason I know that it's a sign? No one else's radiator came on today. Just mine.
