Squishy Speaks: I Want Fruit

Some people theorize that pregnancy cravings are a sign that your baby needs something and you aren't giving to him. Sudden desire for a cheeseburger? Maybe you're short on protein. Inexplicable desire for a banana smoothie? Maybe you could use a potassium boost.

I believe I have recently experienced proof of this theory. This weekend, I ate virtually no fruits and vegetables for whatever reason. Then on Sunday night, I went to the grocery store in search of dinner and all I wanted to eat was fruit.

The reason this experience is proof is that I didn't even realize I was short on my fruit consumption until I found myself staring at my grocery cart that contained no "dinner type" foods but instead overflowed with pineapple, mango, grapes, apples, bananas, pears, and strawberries. I'm not exaggerating. All of those things suddenly found their way into my cart. Which caused me to ponder why and then I realized my only fruit/veggie consumption of the weekend had been a puny lettuce salad.

So there you have it. Squishy speaks. And he says "I Want Fruit."
