An awful discovery

The offices of my work are located on the second floor of a big old stone church in East Liberty, Pittsburgh. It's a fabulous place with lots going on, from Bible studies to camps to music lessons. There's a constant flow of people in and out. In the summer, the church capitalizes on the traffic by setting up an outdoor patio cafe to sell pop and hotdogs and snacks. Which doesn't generally affect me -- hot dogs rarely light my fire.

But then today I made an awful discovery. They also sell breakfast sandwiches, and their sausage, egg and cheese bagel (only $1.25) is really good. Really really good. I came to this terrible realization totally by accident and without premeditation. My breakfast this morning of off-brand frosted mini wheats and an over-ripe banana just didn't leave Squishy feeling satisfied (hard to believe, huh?). So as I wandered by the cafe, I actually glanced at the menu board, which I usually ignore.

And there it was, in all its gooey fatty glory -- the sausage, egg, and cheese bagel. And only a buck twenty-five! So, naturally I bought one. But I secretly assumed it wouldn't be very good.

Alas for me. It was fabulous.

So now I'm in trouble. The cafe is right below my window and I fear that they will call to me each day. I think my only recourse will be to stop carrying cash. No money, no sandwich. Problem solved...

...unless they'd take an IOU. I mean, I work here. My credit is probably good...

The sacrifices you make on behalf of Baby Squishy is an inspiration to us all! :-)
