I didn't really see them coming. I expected mountains of baby clothes and other wee-person-paraphernalia. But the flood of baby blankets has caught me somewhat off-guard. We got four at the shower on Saturday. Which brings the total to something like 8 or 9.
So I asked one of my buddies, a recent mom herself. "So," said I, "what's with all the baby blankets?"
"Dude," she replied, "baby blankets are the best! You use them all the time. Babies get cold easily and you're due on the brink of winter."
"Okay, but do I really need so many? I mean, I use a blanket every day. But I just use one."
To which she sagely responded: "Yes, but you don't throw up on yours."
Ah ha...

No joke - we went through tons of blankets because they're heavy enough to make great spit rags! And if Squishy spits as much as Andrew did (for your sake I hope not) you'll need them.
