Seduction at Whole Foods

I'm pleased to report that Eliah's meals are diversifying -- she now eats both rice cereal and baby oatmeal. To a baby food plebeian (like myself) they both look pretty much the same. Like gruel. But to the discerning palate of a six month old baby (like Eliah), there are deliciously subtle differences. Or something.

Now that she's got these two mastered we're about to move on to "real" food. I popped into Whole Foods after work for some organic carrots...and was totally seduced by the produce section. There was just something magical about all these beautiful fruits and veggies and I got swept up in the excitement of serving them to Ellie.

I came home with the carrots...and sweet potatoes, and mangoes, and a butternut squash, and a rutabaga. I've never eaten rutabaga in my life, but my baby food cookbook suggests it's a good "first food" so by gum we're gonna try it.
