Earlier this week I wore a full-on maternity ensemble: stretchy pants, empire-waisted top (see picture at right -- my eyes were closed so you only get neck down). I thought I looked really cute.
The responses from people at work ranged from the flattering: "Hey there Momma! Look at you all cute!"
To the merely informative: "Kate! You look pregnant!"
To the less flattering: "Oh My GAWD! I cannot BELIEVE how much you're showing ALREADY!!"
Now, I'm happy to be pregnant and I'm not overly concerned about my expanding waistline, but for those of you wondering what to say to pregnant people as they get bigger...let's stick to the first type of comment, okay?

People can only tell that you are showing because you are skinny. Skinny people show faster. It is actually a compliment!
