The Tao of Baby Registries

On Monday night, Josh and I headed to Babies R Us to establish a registry for all those must-have items for the new parent. It was one of those experiences that highlights some of the philosophical differences between my spouse and I.

His approach to registering is: "we don't need that."

My approach to registering is: "we need everything."

So we had several conversations that went something like this:

Kate: "Oooh! Look! Scan that, we need it!"

Josh: "We don't need that...what is it?"

Kate: "I have no idea but clearly we need it."

I may go back secretly by myself some evening to add more items deemed unnecessary by my practical spouse. We did, however, agree on the importance of a camouflage diaper bag.
