Also on Mother's Day last weekend, Ellie demonstrated mastery of a new developmental milestone, although perhaps not one that we'll record in the baby book...

...Miss Mouse had her first wee temper tantrum.

The subject of my angel's ire was my mother's refusal to allow Ellie to gnaw on her necklace. Every time Ellie sat on mom's lap, she locked her bright-eyed gaze on the beaded necklace and pendant around mom's neck. The wee little fingers reached out and the jaws opened wide in anticipation of the chomp.

But mom wouldn't let her use her jewelry as a teething ring.

And you'd have thought she'd told Ellie she was going to diaper her with poison ivy! The eyes scrunched up. The face turned red. And she let loose a truly pathetic (and yet indignant) wail.

Awww.... They grow up so fast.
