Here's how I know that Murphy's Law is real: Josh is out of town at his brother's graduation. I have a couple big projects due at work tomorrow. Ellie and I are flying to Chicago Saturday to spend Mother's Day with my family. And Ellie is sick.
Puking-fever-sent-home-from-day-care-went-to-the-doctor-taking-antibiotics-all-kinds-of-miserable sick.
It turns out that that persistent cough she's had for a few weeks and that I'd been meaning to have looked at but it wasn't really slowing her down all that much...that cough was a double ear infection brewing and gathering strength. Talk about feeling like a total failure in the motherhood department! Poor baby.
So now I'm force-feeding Miss Mouse Pedialite and amoxicillin and praying every time something goes down her throat that it stays down. Mixed results thus far. She managed to hold down two ounces of formula before bedtime, which was a major victory.
