This morning I had to "work" for a few hours. It gets the quotation marks because my "job" consisted of hanging out at an EECM information table at Whole Foods.
It was a terrific morning. I realized just how much I enjoy bopping around with Ellie. First we stopped by Whole Foods to set up the table. I tucked Ellie into her Maya wrap sling and we unloaded the car together. She assisted mainly by pulling my hair. Then we popped over to a church rummage sale (which was awful -- lots of old ladies with bad hair selling amazing quantities of crap), then back to Whole Foods to guard the table for a while.
I feel like I've finally mastered the sling - Ellie spent a very contented 1.5 hours in her sling, charming everyone in sight. She giggled and wiggled and growled like a dinosaur and kicked her feet in wild abandon. She also vomited when I wasn't looking and smeared it all over her face and into her hair before I realized what had happened. Ewww.
Then it was off to lunch with my friend Emily, her baby Finley, and a couple other friends. Ellie did her very best to get her paws on the pizza I was eating, but was forced to content herself with a bottle. She consented with poor grace and several tears.
I love that she's portable but interactive these days. It's easy to take her places with me, and she loves being out and about. She's great company.
