One of the things about having a baby around is that your nose becomes overly attuned to the smell of baby poop. I smell it everywhere. Everywhere.
The cloth diapers may be partially to blame. Their hamper is not entirely stink-proof. But we do laundry every other day so they aren't sitting around all that long. And it's not just in her nursery, although I do notice it most there. I also smell it in other rooms. Sometimes the source of the smell is actually Ellie herself, in need of a diaper change, but not always.
I think the scent must hover in the air or something becomes I am constantly sniffing suspiciously, convinced that I've caught a whiff of something stinky. It's a mystery.
My big fear now is that the smell will eventually permeate my hair and skin and pores and that I will begin to give off a faint eau to baby butt.
