Ellie took a big wiggle toward mobility this morning, I think.
We were spending some quality naked time together in the nursery (although only she was naked). She was sprawled out on her favorite fuzzy blanket -- thanks Aunt Abigail! -- wiggling and squirming as usual.
Then I noticed that there seemed to be some purpose to the movements. Could it be that they were no longer simply joyful thrashing?
She would dig her feet in and arch her back a bit, lifting her butt off the ground as if she was trying to do a back bridge with no hands involved. But she pushed harder with one leg than the other and the result was a slight rotation.
Over the course of about 15 minutes, she managed to turn herself in a complete 360 degree circle, with her head staying mostly still and her body rotating around, sort of like the hands of a clock. It was the funniest thing. And she was so proud of herself. When she got back around so that she was facing me once more, she was grinning from ear to ear.
So here we go. Today the clock wiggle. Tomorrow the 50 yard dash.
