Ellie enjoys grasping items these days -- rattles, small stuffed animals, burp cloths, mom's earrings, etc. What's funny about it is that she doesn't always seem totally aware of the fact that she has something in her hand.
If her fingers encounter an object, they close. It's like a reflex. But then I think she sometimes forgets that she's holding on to something. What makes me say that?
Well, she tends to bring her hands up to her head and whack herself on the noggin with whatever she was holding.
When it's a burp cloth or her bib, she appears to be playing peek-a-boo and it's cute. When it's a mid-sized plastic rattle, she gives herself a good conk. But she doesn't seem to mind. She just blinks a few times, then turns her head to look at her hands and have an exploratory gnaw on whatever it is she just hit herself with.
