Whirlwind

Kate, of course, has been keeping you up to speed on everything that has been going on over the last three months. Needless to say it has been a whirlwind, one which has prevented me having time, energy, etc. to post on the blog. But now that we are back to some normalcy around the house I guess I do not have a good reason not to post anymore.

The most common question I get asked is, 'How is Ellie doing?' She is doing great! I could not ask for a better child. Well, I guess I could ask, but I would not get a better kid than my Ellie. One of the most amazing things in the world is to see your baby look around and take the world in. That is Ellie's day: staring, wide-eyed, at the world, processing her new surroundings. My worst fear is that her eyes will get stuck in the 'bug-eyes' position forever, but perhaps that won't happen.

It is amazing to me, too, just how much she has changed in the last three months. She doesn't do much, but comparing now to the first three days of life, she is an unstoppable force. She literally did not move for the first three days. At first her routine was: sleep, eat, poop, repeat. Now she does so much more. She wiggles, she speaks, she smiles, she laughs (in her sleep, which is hysterical) she holds her head up, she sort of tries to crawl, she grabs things, etc.

I guess the best way to sum all of that up is to say that my daughter is becoming a person. It is so awesome to see. I'm so glad I am here for the ride.
